FROG & TOAD was awesome. It was funny and I loved the music. My grandson was sitting on the edge of his seat and talked about the play the next day.

Loved the show-Will return…..Bonnie

Emily Ditmore
I just wanted you to thank you for your work with Andrew during SchoolHouse Rock camp. He had a blast. Each day he came bounding out the door ready to tell me the latest exciting news from camp that day.

Erin Mitchell Gallagher
This isn't only for children....our girls loved it but my husband and I enjoyed it just as much as they did.

Kay Carter
Really enjoyed the play tonight-another great performance by a talented cast and awesome director-Pat Wilhelms!

Dana Ayers Kelley We had an AWESOME time! Thanks for making my little girls first theatre experience wonderful!

Sharon Ellmore, Roanoke City school Teacher I wanted you to know that all of the teachers felt your play was so much better than the traveling ones they have seen at the Civic Center. Our kids loved it and so did I.

Sylvia Long- Your play was absolutely delightful! Gina (Junie) was terrific and very convincing as a 5 year old - as were all the other "kindergartners"! They really captured the typical 5 year old personalities.-

Carolyn Sharpe, James Madison Middle School "I attended the performance last night. It was OUTSTANDING! It was beyond what I was expecting. I loved the set design and the actors were terrific. Congratulations to all who had a part in creating such a wonderful adaptation of The Giver.
Thank you for the workshop. I look forward to utilizing the study guide with future readings of the book.

From Anna Lawson:
"I took our granddaughter to see Charlotte's Web, she's just over 2 and not inclined to sit still for long but was absolutely enchanted! And so was I. This Children's Theatre is a great thing. thank you."

From Lean Beason, Community School

From Russ Baskett, Smith Mountain Lake Good Neighbors

"I just wanted to tell you that we are loving your program. It is great to see the children engaged and learning something new and different. I hope this is just the beginning and that we will be able to continue this educational program and add even more next year."

"New Children's Theatre Wows
As my five-year-old daughter and I approached the ticket table set sort of makeshift outside the the theatre at the Taubman Museum of Art, I was still skeptical. It was a pretty Saturday and I wanted to be outside. We were about to see the Roanoke Children's Theatre's rendition of Chartlotte's Web. And as lovely as it felt to be going on a little outing to the museum for a program geared toward little ones, I honestly feared the worst.

Not that I expect anything but the highest quality to be coming from that venue. I've just been bored to sleep by countless kids' movies in my time. And saw just about everything there was to see on Broadway in Manhattan as a child. I'm a huge drama snob.

Was I ever surprised! Once in the beautiful theatre, we found ourselves surrounded by familiar faces and families with kids of all ages. (The little boy sitting behind us was just two). As the show started, I was immediately taken by the quality of the acting. The set was excellent. The costumes were....perfect. I was in. And I didn't budge until my daughter's heart broke and I had to take her on my lap when Charlotte sweetly wrapped herself in her web and died at the end of the play. The acting was that good.

We LOVED it. When I asked on my way out why I had never heard of the Roanoke children's Theatre, an employee informed me that it was new--not even six months new. But you'd NEVER know. This was a performance of the highest echelon. I overheard countless others on their way out of the theatre waxing poetic about the performance they'd just seen as well.

We can't wait to go back for the next show, "Honk", puportedly a tale of the Ugly Duckling. We might even invite my 2-year-old son."

From Mary Bishop
A friend and I saw "Charlotte's Web" yesterday.
It was one of the best productions we've ever seen in the Roanoke Valley. Your direction was exquisite.
From the perfect costumes — ah, the spider's rounded arachnid torso, the rat's ratty outfit, the sheep's droopy ears — to the geese's quacks, we were enchanted. You succeeded in making each animal believable as an animal — the geese's waddles, the very pig-like position in which Wilbur sleeps, Templeton's use of his tough tail, Charlotte's busy arms and legs. Each performance was just spot-on. The sound was right, the wonderful narrator, the props, well, everything.
Thank you! I'll be back for more.
