Charitable Contributions

Roanoke Children's Theatre is a Federally registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, contributions made to RCT are tax deductible within the charitable giving regulations of the Internal Revenue Service.

RCT welcomes individuals and businesses interested in assisting us in accomplishing our mission of providing high quality theatre entertainment and education for youth, their families and their schools with year round programming. We engage youth in a world of communication, imagination, creativity, empowerment and learning while providing a place where multiple generations can take part in a powerful and entertaining experience together.

Roanoke Children’s Theatre with youth aged 5-18 in mind will:

• Produce 4 plays per year using professional adult actors and local youth. Public performances allow family members to enjoy the experience together inside the Taubman Museum of Art which could also include a lunch or dinner, or gallery tour.

• Produce student matinee performances for local school systems. “Play and Fine Art Guides” and post show talk-backs held in conjunction with the Taubman Department of Education are designed to help teachers provide maximum educational benefits from the production and the fine arts connection to fulfill SOL requirements.

• Offer theatre classes that will empower youth, foster self-esteem, ensemble work, problem solving, creativity and self-discipline throughout the year. After school programming is also offered within school systems to address the need for art based education for students who may not have the opportunity to experience the arts otherwise.
