Announcing the RCT Summer Theatre Academy Dates!  RCT knows summer!  Your student will spend a week at Roanoke's only professional theatre for kids! RCT ALL STARS: MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE

(9th grade-Age 25)

By Audition or Invitation Only.

M-F July 9-14th, 2012: 9am-4pm

Dress Rehearsal: SAT July 14th: 11am-6pm

Performance: SAT July 14th, 7:00pm

Join us as we celebrate the talents of the best theatre students from the Roanoke area. Students will receive pre-professional training in acting, singing and dancing while having a summer-stock experience as we mount a show for a public performance. Every summer a special Guest Artist joins our creative team for RCT AllStars and will also offer a master class.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE

(6th-9th Grade)

High School Musical! Camp Style

M-F JUNE 25th-29th, 2012: 8:30am-1:30pm

Dress Rehearsal: FRI June 29th: 5pm-6:30pm

Performance: FRI June 29th, 7:00pm

Join us as we produce songs and scenes from this rockin' musical based on Disney Channel's smash hit movie musical! Student will train in singing, dancing, and acting as we work to mount this awesome show from page to stage!

MIDDLE SCHOOL PLAY

(6th-9th Grade)

Romeo, You Idiot!

It's a summer Shakesperience!  Students will learn acting, voice, character, ensemble building, movement, comedic timing and an introduction to the Bard!  Join us as we mount this hilarious adaptation of some of Will's best works!

3RD-5TH GRADE MUSICAL THEATRE

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

M-F July 16th-20th, 2012: 9am-1:30pm

Dress Rehearsal: SAT July 21st: 9am

Performance: SAT July 21st: 11:00am

Come on this adventure as we mount a musical version of this popular show!  Join Tom, Huck, Becky, Aunt Polly and a slew of fun characters as Mark Twain's classic story comes to life! Students will build a foundation of acting, singing and dancing skills as we mount this fun show in less than a week!

K-2ND MUSICAL THEATRE

(Completed K-2nd Grade)

Alice in Wonderland!

M-F July 23rd-27th, 2012: 9am-1pm

Dress Rehearsal: SAT July 28th: 9am

Performance: SAT July 28th, 11:00am

Join Alice's madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, meets a caterpillar, joins a mad tea party, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game!  Student will receive an introduction to musical theatre singing, dancing and acting as we produce this imaginative musical adaptation!

This fun class will introduce our youngest actors to the magic of theatre! Each day they will explore different aspects of creative drama by learning the basics of acting, singing, and dancing! Everyday our classroom will transform into a new storybook!
